Bio
Eshwar Chandrasekharan is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research builds computational models and human-AI systems to understand and shape behavior in digital environments, with the goal of making them healthier, safer, and more welcoming. Dr. Chandrasekharan is the recipient of a National Science Foundation CAREER award, a Facebook Research Award, a Best Paper Award at CSCW, Honorable Mentions at DIS and WebSci, and Editor's Pick for Notable Paper at TOCHI. His research has also received considerable press coverage—e.g., The New York Times, The Verge, MIT Technology Review, TechCrunch, and MotherBoard. Professor Chandrasekharan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.Tech + M.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
